Lung 3
Lung3 is a refuge for clean air in an environment where it is no longer taken for granted. It is a Bioreactor where the user can directly input CO2 and in return receive oxygen, forming a symbiotic relationship between human and algae.
The vessel personifies the algae through it’s breathing action and arterial forms to bridge the gap between micro organism and person and create a sustainable relationship where both rely on one another.
A post apocalyptic world, fresh air is a commodity and Lung3 is one of the few remaining sources.
An algae bioreactor designed for direct input of CO2 in return for Oxygen from the algae.
Made for RMIT Industrial design studio, Biomatters.
